The Porto Historical Customs Building, widely known as the Alfândega Congress Centre, is a premier events venue situated along the banks of the Douro River in Porto, Portugal. Housed in a restored 19th-century customs house designed by French architect Jean Colson and later adapted by Pritzker Prize–winning architect Eduardo Souto de Moura, the venue seamlessly blends historical industrial architecture with modern event infrastructure.
The building is part of the Museum of Transport and Communication, focused on the history of transport and communication in Portugal and its collection comprises a diverse repertoire of cars, with a special focus on presidential vehicles.
Getting to the venue
From Porto Airport
Catch the metro “Line E”, Destination “Estádio do Dragão”. Exit at “Trindade”
At “Trindade” change to “Line D” – Destination “Santo Ovidio” and exit at “São Bento”
Exit the metro station and at the STCP bus stop, catch the “500" bus – Destination “Matosinhos (Mercado)”- Exit at “Alfândega” bus stop.

It costs €2.50 and is only valid for the trip for which it was purchased.
By car
The Parque da Alfândega is a paid municipal open-air parking lot located on Rua Nova da Alfândega right next to the Alfândega do Porto congress centre. The parking space is not guaranteed, therefore we recommend using the public transportation for travelling to and from the venue.
